The Jamfs

The Jamfs is a new group consisting of Gemma Farrell on Baritone Sax, Matt Smith on Trumpet, Dan Garner on Guitar, Tim Voutas on Organ and Ryan Daunt on the Drums. They formed to support Elliott Hughes at his CD launch in December 2019 and they play funky hard bop with a Hammond Organ instead of a bass, inspired by Shirley Scott, George Benson, Medeski Martin and Wood etc. Their name is the title of a famous jazz tune by Johnny Griffin called "The JAMFs are coming." Jamfs stands for Jive Ass Mother F**kers. The band thought this name described them all well.

Farrell Garner Gardiner

Farrell Garner Gardiner is a new trio, featuring saxophonist Gemma Farrell, guitarist Dan Garner and bassist Gwyneth Gardiner. The trio was formed for performances at the Perth Festival in February 2020, and they very quickly booked other performances. They are three friends coming together in this unique setting to play standards and original compositions. Between them they have a Master of Music degree, a Bachelor of Jazz and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, and they have all played in various projects and genres around Perth and the world.
